U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken congratulated Minister Radosław Sikorski on his return to office, expressing hope for a face-to-face meeting with Minister Sikorski in Washington early next year.

On Wednesday, Minister of Foreign Affairs Radosław Sikorski talked with his counterparts from Lithuania, Germany, Ukraine, Moldova, and Czechia about support for Ukraine in the context of Russia’s aggression, about bilateral relations, and about cooperation opportunities within the European Union and the Visegrad Group. The conversations started with congratulations on Minister Sikorski’s reappointment as the head of Polish diplomacy.

Held in Brussels on 11 December 2023, the meeting of EU top diplomats focused on Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, the developments in Israel and the region, and the situation in the Sahel.

10 December marks the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by the UN General Assembly. The document has lost none of its relevance and many of the rights defined therein must still be protected in different parts of the world.

On 11 December 2023, head of Polish diplomacy Szymon Szynkowski vel Sęk will take part in the EU’s Foreign Affairs Council (FAC) meeting in Brussels.

UNESCO’s Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage granted Poland’s request to enter the polonaise on the UNECO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The decision was made on 5 December, during the Committee’s 18th session held in Kasane, Botswana.

Held on 5 December at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the ceremony provided an opportunity to take stock of this year’s economic diplomacy activities.

In view of the resolution to amend the Treaties, adopted on 22 November 2023, and an institutional reform proposed by the European Parliament, Minister of Foreign Affairs Szymon Szynkowski vel Sęk held on 28 November–1 December 2023 a number of bilateral consultations with his European counterparts and other partners from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Lithuania, Latvia and Denmark.
