Due to the situation in the Middle East, this year’s Regional Forum of the Union for the Mediterranean, held on 27 November in Barcelona, was a unique event devoted solely to the conflict in the Middle East.

On 7–22 November, Paris hosted the 42nd session of the General Conference of UNESCO. Poland’s representatives to the event participated in discussions of importance to the country.

While in Brussels on 21–22 November 2023, Head of the Foreign Service Piotr Rychlik met with, among others, the management of the European External Action Service. During the talks, the officials discussed the employment of Polish citizens in the EU’s diplomatic structures. The visit to Belgium was also an opportunity to meet with Polish national experts and diplomats seconded to EU structures.

On 22 November 2023, head of Polish diplomacy Zbigniew Rau presented the Pro Dignitate Humana Award of the Polish Minister of Foreign Affairs to Vladimir Kara-Murza, a journalist, a defender of human rights in Russia and a political prisoner.

Attended by Deputy Minister Wojciech Gerwel on behalf of Minister Zbigniew Rau, the meeting was held on the initiative of the US and focused on support for Ukraine’s energy sector.

On 20 November 2023, Deputy Minister Jabłoński, acting on behalf of Minister Zbigniew Rau, took part in a meeting of EU top diplomats. Held via videoconference, the session was devoted to the developments in the Middle East.

On the occasion of Foreign Service Day, Head of the Foreign Service Piotr Rychlik sent congratulatory letters to the Polish diplomatic posts which had made the most of this year’s World Bicycle Day to talk about Poland in an interesting, modern, and inspiring way.

On 20 November, Underecretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Wojciech Gerwel opened an information meeting on Poland’s candidacy for the Council of the International Maritime Organization (IMO).

Marking Foreign Service Day, which falls on 16 November, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs once again opened its doors to the public.

On 17 November 2023, Secretary of State at the Polish MFA Arkadiusz Mularczyk inaugurated the 11th edition of the Warsaw Dialogue for Democracy, devoted to the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
