Paweł Milewski becomes Polish Ambassador to Japan

On behalf of the Polish President, Minister Jacek Czaputowicz has presented Paweł Milewski with his nomination as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Japan today.

Paweł Milewski studied at the Faculty of Modern Languages (Chinese studies) at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan. He also studied at Xiamen University and at Beijing Pedagogical University. He completed his postgraduate studies at the SGH Warsaw School of Economics. He joined the MFA in 1999. Between 2001-2002 he worked in the MFA’s Asia, Australia, and Latin America Department, and then in the Asia-Pacific Department (2002-2003). Between 2003-2009 he was posted at the Polish Embassy in China as head of section for culture and promotion. After the posting he returned to the Asia-Pacific Department, where he was deputy director in 2011-2013. He was Polish ambassador to Australia in 2013-2017. In 2017 he was appointed director of the MFA’s Asia-Pacific Department.
