Polska przeznacza pomoc dla Gruzji i Ukrainy

For many years, Polish firefighters have been irreplaceable partners for Polish Aid. As part of development projects financed or co-financed by the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, they have been providing training and specialist equipment to emergency services in the Eastern Partnership countries, mainly in Ukraine and Georgia. Their priority is to implement European models in terms of internal security and protecting civilians from the effects of catastrophic events, natural disasters and man-made hazards. Polish experts also focus on maintaining personal safety during missions.

Poland’s cooperation with Ukrainian and Georgian partners has gained particular importance in the light of the spread of COVID-19. Taking into account the role of emergency services in fighting coronavirus, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs decided to allocate PLN 1.2 million for the next stages of projects which aim at strengthening the support of rescue services in Georgia and Ukraine and improving cooperation with Polish services.
