Minister Rau attended the panel “Ukraine: a vision for success”. Other panelists included Dmytro Kuleba, Anna Baerbock, and Josep Borrell Fontelles, while the discussion was hosted and moderated by the head of Czech MFA Jan Lipavský.

In his address, the top Polish diplomat underlined that granting Ukraine candidate status for EU membership is of paramount importance for the future of Kyiv. He noted that the EU member states should strive to keep up the high dynamics of the accession process and prevent its stagnation. “We must do anything we can to continue this strategic political process. I am convinced that in the years to come it will be at least as important as the country’s post-war reconstruction,” he underlined.

The head of Polish MFA mentioned mutual benefits for both the European Union and Ukraine resulting from its future accession and expected that the European Commission would present the second part of the opinion on Ukraine’s progress in its integration with the EU. He also noted the need to reflect on administrative and budgetary solutions, which will provide a stimulating environment to proceed with Ukraine’s accession to the EU.
