Poles and people of Polish descent evacuated from Ukraine

04.03.2022

Another round of evacuation has taken place. Two coaches carrying 63 people left from Lviv. The transport took place through efforts of the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Lviv and the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Evacuation of Poles and people of Polish origin as well as children from Ukraine

Among the evacuees were 8 Polish citizens and 30 holders of the Pole’s Card, including their families, 2 citizens of Norway, 1 citizen of Belarus, and Ukrainians with outstanding contributions to the Polish community. Their journey ended at the railway station in Jarosław, Poland.

Interest in service organised by the Consulate has decreased: of the nearly 130 people who had signed up, only half showed up at the pick-up point.

At around 11 a.m., three coaches left from a children’s hospital in Lviv with 50 ill children and their carers onboard, a total of around 150 people. It was yet another transport of children whose oncological treatment is to be continued in Poland.
