Polish and Belgian foreign ministers' meeting

Minister Radosław Sikorski met today with the new head of Belgian diplomacy Maxime Prévot. The main issues raised during the meeting were Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the US proposals to end the war.
The ministers agreed that it is impossible to achieve sustainable peace without engaging Ukraine and its European partners in the process.
The participants also discussed the increase of defence spending. Minister Sikorski appreciated the priorities of Belgium’s new government in this regard.
The conversation also provided an opportunity to exchange opinions on regional and global issues including EU enlargement and the conflict in the eastern part of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
