Polish–Bulgarian consultations at deputy ministers’ level

On 27–28 February 2025, Bulgaria hosted Polish–Bulgarian talks attended by Undersecretary of State at the Polish MFA Marek Prawda and Deputy Foreign Minister Elena Shekerletova.
The deputy ministers confirmed the very good bilateral relations and the common stance on the most important aspects of international security. They expressed confidence that there is the need and the potential for further enhancement of the existing bilateral ties.
The diplomats also discussed the challenge that Russia’s aggression against Ukraine continues to pose to our continent. Prospects for developing transatlantic cooperation were debated as well.
Undersecretary of State Marek Prawda and Bulgaria’s Deputy Minister Elena Shekerletova also spoke about further enlargement of the European Union and how the Polish Presidency of the EU Council is working on it. They both agreed that close cooperation between Warsaw and Sofia in this respect might bring tangible results.
