Polish–Chinese political consultations in Warsaw

Deputy Foreign Minister Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski held political consultations with Deputy Foreign Minister of the People’s Republic of China Ma Zhaoxu. Afterwards, Deputy Minister Ma Zhaoxu exchanged courtesies with the head of Polish diplomacy Radosław Sikorski.
Main points of the agenda included: the security situation in Europe, the war in Ukraine, EU–China ties, and both countries’ relations with the United States. The Polish side offered its assessment of the current state of international affairs, highlighting a sharp turn in the EU’s external and internal policy, including its economic dimension.
At the same time, the Polish delegation underlined that security will take priority in the European Union’s future reactions to the changes in the world and in the relations with key partners. With regard to bilateral issues, both sides agreed it is necessary to fully implement the Action Plan on Strengthening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Poland and China (2024–2027) adopted during the Polish President’s official visit to China, including critical economy-related provisions. The delegations also expressed their willingness to maintain regular bilateral political dialogue in the future.
