Polish-Cypriot consultations
20.10.2026
Undersecretary of State Artur Harazim and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus Theodora Constantinidou met in Warsaw on 20 October. The deputy ministers reaffirmed excellent bilateral relations and convergent stances on security. Their talks focused on migration, hybrid threats, and the war in Ukraine. The interlocutors also spoke about transatlantic relations, the Middle East crisis, the current EU agenda, and the internal situation in Cyprus.
In the context of regional security, the two officials unequivocally condemned Russia’s aggression against Ukraine and declared continued support for Kyiv. They also discussed growing migratory pressure, considering it a shared structural challenge that calls for a firm EU-level response. Deputy Minister Harazim emphasised the unprecedented scale of hybrid threats and sabotage attacks on the eastern border of the EU and NATO.
The internal situation in Cyprus was high on the agenda.
The consultations also concerned strategic EU topics and the current situation in the Middle East. The deputy foreign ministers of Poland and Cyprus exchanged views on the future structure of the multiannual financial framework (MFF) and stressed the fundamental significance of transatlantic relations. They assessed the EU enlargement process as a key means for stabilising Europe geopolitically. A high potential of economic cooperation with the tourist sector at its core was recognised as well.
