In regard to multilateral cooperation, the deputy ministers shared a belief that the renewed Visegrád partnership proves it necessary and increasingly effective for the countries in our region to work together. They emphasised readiness to coordinate positions and openness to continue dialogue in the V4 Plus format.

One of the main topics of the consultations concerned Poland’s and Czechia’s priorities in a range of multilateral formats, such as the Three Seas Initiative, the Council of the Baltic Sea States, or the Slavkov trilateral.

Also, the talks encompassed the EU agenda in the context of preparations ahead of the October session of the European Council and cooperation to support Ukraine (including through the Ukraine Facility).

Deputy Minister Artur Harazim congratulated Deputy Minister Jiří Brodský on becoming Chair of the Czech Programme Council of the Polish–Czech Forum. He expressed hope that the next meeting of the Forum will be organised jointly with its Polish Chair, Director Wojciech Konończuk of the Centre for Eastern Studies (OSW).

While in Prague, Deputy Minister Harazim also took part in the fifth edition of the Polish Logistics Day conference organised by the Polish Embassy in Prague. The event’s central theme was strengthening transport and logistic links between Poland and Czechia, with a particular focus on the potential use of Polish ports by Czech companies.

Poland’s deputy foreign minister also met with Daniel Štech, the Head of the Foreign Department at the Chancellery of the President of the Czech Republic. The two officials discussed plans for the Czech president’s visit to Poland and opportunities to enhance security cooperation and make better use of regional formats.
