Until 29 October, young people from the Western Balkans, Poland, and Germany will be taking part in lectures and workshops on Polish–German relations. They will jointly reflect on whether the experience of Polish–German reconciliation and contemporary examples of dialogue between Warsaw and Berlin can serve as an inspiration for other nations that seek understanding despite a painful past.

The programme includes study visits to places of dialogue and remembrance, including the District of Mutual Respect in Wrocław, the Depot History Centre, and the site of the former Gross-Rosen concentration camp. Also planned are meetings with educators working in the Polish–German border region and representatives of local authorities. Seminar participants will also discuss the path of Central and Eastern European countries to EU membership and the current state of the Berlin Process, whose goal is to support cooperation in the Western Balkans, complementing and strengthening the EU’s enlargement policy.

This year, the seminar’s format has been expanded. In addition to participants from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Serbia, Poland, and Germany, participants from Bulgaria and Croatia have also been invited. The event is bringing together a total of 30 participants.
