The consultations with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Paruyr Hovhannisyan focused on the intensification of bilateral and multilateral cooperation, as well as the security situation in the region and Russia’s aggression against Ukraine. “Poland and Armenia have very good, centuries-old relations. Warsaw supports Yerevan on the difficult path of modernisation and ongoing democratic reforms,” emphasised the deputy head of Polish diplomacy. He also highlighted that “Russia’s completely unprovoked invasion of Ukraine not only has destabilised the security situation in our immediate neighbourhood, but has also affected security issues in the South Caucasus region”.

The Polish deputy foreign minister also met with Vice President of the National Assembly of Armenia Ruben Rubinyan to discuss parliamentary cooperation and prospects for the normalisation of relations between Yerevan and Ankara. During a meeting with Deputy Ministers of Economy R. Gevorgyan and A. Arzumanyan, the officials discussed opportunities for the development of investments and trade.

During the ceremony of signing the agreement between the Warsaw Stock Exchange and Armenia’s Central Bank, Deputy Minister Przydacz stressed, among other matters, the importance of bilateral cooperation in high technologies.

The deputy chief of the Polish MFA also visited a regional office of the probation service in Abovyan, renovated as part of a Polish development cooperation project, as well as the Metsamor archeological site, run in cooperation with the Institute of Archaeology at the University of Warsaw.

Deputy Minister Przydacz also opened a concert celebrating the 30th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between the Republic of Poland and the Republic of Armenia.
