Secretary of State Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski meets Americans of Polish descent

Secretary of State Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski met with participants of the Heritage Polonia programme. It brings together young Americans of Polish descent studying at prestigious universities as well as individuals interested in Poland, its history, culture, and present day.
Building lasting ties between the young generation of the Polish diaspora in the United States and contemporary Poland is one of the goals of the initiative organized by the MFA Department of Cooperation with Polish Community Abroad, in collaboration with the US Heritage Polonia programme, sponsored by the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Washington, D.C.
Held on 16 June, the meeting was attended by Deputy Minister Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski. The discussion provided an opportunity to present modern Poland as a country experiencing dynamic economic growth, increasingly embracing new technologies, and open to young people who wish to strengthen their ties with their ancestral homeland.
During the meeting, Deputy Minister Bartoszewski touched on Poland’s economic transformation, the achievements of Polish scientists, entrepreneurs, and innovators, as well as the growing importance of Polish companies in international markets. He mentioned the development of the new technologies sector, artificial intelligence, quantum technologies, and examples of Polish businesses and solutions that are successfully operating abroad.
The deputy minister spoke at length on learning the Polish language and opportunities to study in Poland. He encouraged programme participants to view Polish language skills not only as an element of family heritage but also as a practical tool for building links with Poland, developing competencies, and planning further educational or professional paths.
Participants also discussed the internationalisation of Polish universities and the opportunities Poland offers to young people from abroad who are interested in studies, internships, and academic cooperation. It was emphasised that contemporary relations between young members of the Polish diaspora and Poland can encompass not only historical and family dimensions, but also educational, professional, academic, and technological aspects.
While presenting Poland. Business Adventure MFA business internship programme implemented in cooperation with the Polish Investment and Trade Agency, Deputy Minister Bartoszewski underlined that a three‑month stay and work experience in Poland can be an excellent opportunity for both professional and personal development, as well as a step toward building a career based on ties with our country.
