Secretary of State Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski meets with IFRC Regional Director Birgitte Bischoff Ebbesen

Held on 5 June, the meeting focused on sharing the experience of Poland and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) in providing humanitarian aid during Russia's war against Ukraine as well as on building resilience and capacity to respond to crisis situations.

Also discussed were the activities of IFRC Warsaw cluster delegation covering Poland as well as Czechia, Estonia, Moldova, Lithuania, Latvia, Slovakia, and Romania.

The talks were also an opportunity to share information on the future of this institution in Poland. Director Birgitte Bischoff Ebbesen thanked for the MFA’s donations made in 2024 and 2025 in response to the IFRC’s calls for humanitarian aid.

The Polish cluster delegation was set up in June 2022 and until February 2024 also covered Ukraine, where the IFRC currently has a separate representation.
