Swearing-in ceremony of Ukraine’s new president

Yesterday in Kyiv, Foreign Minister Jacek Czaputowicz took part in the swearing-in ceremony of Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky.

On the sidelines of the ceremony, the new president met with Poland’s top diplomat Jacek Czaputowicz, who was accompanied by Polish Ambassador to Ukraine Bartosz Cichocki. They discussed prospects for the development of bilateral economic and social cooperation, and ways to advance dialogue on history. The officials also welcomed the benefits brought by the Eastern Partnership and the Three Seas Initiative. Minister Czaputowicz reiterated that Poland supports Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders. On behalf of President Andrzej Duda, he congratulated President Zelensky and invited him to visit Poland.

In Kyiv, the Polish foreign policy chief also met with Ukraine’s outgoing Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin to thank him for cooperation and for his contribution to strengthening Polish-Ukrainian relations in the past years.
