The books advancing to the final stage of Minister of Foreign Affairs' Competition for the Best History Book have been selected by the Competition Jury.

On October 2, 2025, the Competition Jury, established pursuant to paragraph 4 of Order No. 9 of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of March 24, 2025, held a meeting.

The books advancing to the final stage of Minister of Foreign Affairs' Competition for the Best History Book have been selected by the Competition Jury.

This year's Competition includes books published in 2023 and 2024. Awards will be granted in two categories:
1.    Best publication in Polish on the history of Polish diplomacy
2.    Best foreign-language publication on the history of Poland


After formal verification, 51 publications were qualified for the first stage: 10 in the Polish-language category and 41 in the foreign-language category. All titles submitted to the Competition demonstrated a high standard of academic quality as well as significant potential for public engagement.


After conducting a substantive evaluation and discussion, the Competition Jury agreed to qualify the following for the second, final stage of the competition:


Four books in the Polish-language category:
•    Polish Contributions to International Criminal Law between 1918 and 2018, authors Patrycja Grzebyk, Bartłomiej Krzan, Karolina Wierczyńska (original title: Polski dorobek w zakresie międzynarodowego prawa karnego w latach 1918-2018)
•    Polish Diplomatic Documents 1943, author Prof. Jacek Tebinka (original title: Polskie Dokumenty Dyplomatyczne 1943)
•    Polish Diplomacy Regarding the “Jewish Question” in the Years 1932–1939, author Kinga Czechowska (original title: Polska dyplomacja wobec „kwestii żydowskiej” w latach 1932–1939)
•    Ambassador’s Diary 1994–1995, author Ryszard Stemplowski (original title: Dziennik ambasadora 1994 – 1995)

The Competition Jury will make the final selection of the laureates at its forthcoming meeting in November 2025. Following approval by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, their names will be published on the official website. The awards will be presented to the laureates at a formal ceremony in December.
