Poland in the EU

The Permanent Representation of the Republic of Poland to the EU together with the National Centre for Emissions Management (KOBiZE) organized a video conference, during which experts exchanged views on the challenges related to the transformation towards climate neutrality and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the implementation of the EU's ambitious climate and energy policy.

The health ministers of EU Member States hold a political debate on the challenges of providing access to medicines which has become increasingly urgent during the ongoing crisis related to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki participated in the videoconference of EU leaders with representatives from six Western Balkan partners - Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Kosovo, Northern Macedonia and Serbia.

At their informal videoconference, EU telecommunications ministers discussed the use of contact tracing and warning apps in tackling the COVID-19 pandemic. They also exchanged views on the role of the digital sector in the post-COVID-19 recovery, including measures to incentivise investment in the deployment of new very-high-capacity digital infrastructures.

The purpose of the meeting in the format of EU ministers, with the participation of the European Commissioners and partner social organizations, was to exchange information on economic recovery plans and demographic challenges in the context of the crisis related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki announced during a global donors conference that Poland and the Visegrad Group countries decided to allocate an additional EUR 3 million as part of the initiative to accelerate vaccine and drug development against COVID-19.

The circumstances forced a change in the celebrations planned in Brussels of the National Day of the Constitution of 3 May, the Flag Day of the Republic of Poland and the anniversary of Poland's accession to the European Union.

EU transport ministers held their second informal videoconference on the implications of the COVID-19 pandemic for transport. The meeting focused on possible additional measures and the coordination of the gradual easing of restrictions in the context of the EU’s exit strategy.

EU ministers of energy held an informal video conference on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the energy sector, which also covered the issues of preparedness and recovery.
