A good start for every pupil. On 1 July, the call for application is started

27.06.2022

The holidays have just begun, but in a few days – from July 1 – parents will be able to apply for a “Good Start”, i.e. PLN 300 for school supplies for each pupil. – It is worth doing it as soon as possible so that the funds are transferred to the accounts before 1 September. Thanks to this, the return of children to schools will be easier – says the Minister of Family and Social Policy, Marlena Maląg.

A good start for every pupil. On 1 July, the call for application is started

When thinking about 1 September and the return to school, some pupils look forward to meeting their friends, and others have long faces – after all, this also means the return to duties, learning, homework. For parents, the beginning of the new school year means mainly the purchase of school supplies, i.e. considerable expenses.

As early as in 2018, we launched the „Good Start” programme, which is aimed at reducing the burden on home budgets of families with schoolchildren. This is a one-off support of PLN 300 for school supplies for each schoolchild – says the Minister of Family and Social Policy, Marlena Maląg.

Parent, remember to apply

Minister Maląg stresses that although the holidays have just begun, the call for applications for „Good Start” is started very soon – on Friday, 1 July.

How to submit such an application? It is very simple. We have 3 electronic channels at our disposal – electronic banking, PUE ZUS and the Ministry’s portal Emp@tia. We do not need any declaration of income – „Good start” is granted regardless of earnings.

The benefit is paid once a year for children starting the school year, studying until the age of 20, and in the case of children with disabilities – until the age of 24.

More than PLN 6.6 billion for the „Good Start” programme

Every year, about 4.4 million children use the „Good Start” programme. The total amount of support in the years 2018-2022 will amount to about PLN 6.65 billion.
