Minister of Family, Labour and Social Policy

dr Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk

Graduated as an educator and philosopher, completed her doctoral studies in philosophy in the Chair of Social and Political Philosophy at the Institute of Philosophy, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Wrocław. 

Before becoming politically involved, she was a social researcher and an activist fighting for the rights of women, teachers, workers, as well as a volunteer at the haematology ward of the University Clinical Hospital in Wrocław and an academic teacher. She set up kindergartens in rural areas, created the first youth municipality councils, as well as supported strikes and labour protests.

As a member of the Sejm of the 9th Parliamentary term, she served on the Social Policy Committee and the Education, Science and Youth Committee. Using her parliamentary mandate, she was involved in helping citizens unlawfully detained during protests. She supported protesting people with disabilities and their carers in their fight for decent benefits and the right to undertake work.

In 2020, she launched the MP's Employee Assistance at her MP's office, where she has performed several hundred interventions to defend workers against unlawful underpayment, violation of workers' rights and obstruction of trade union activities. 

Initiator of the establishment of the Parliamentary Group on the Situation of Women in the Labour Market in the 9th Parliamentary term of the Sejm, involved in counteracting discrimination of women at work and activities targeted at the improvement of working conditions in feminised professions. She defended mothers receiving underpayment after returning to work from maternity leave.
