Consultations on the 800+ Act have started

01.06.2023

From 1 January 2024, every child up to the age of 18 will receive PLN 800, instead of the current PLN 500, every month. The launch of public consultations of the Act increasing the child-rearing benefit was announced by Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and Minister of Family and Social Policy Marlena Maląg during the Children's Day celebration in Żabia Wola.

Consultations on the 800+ Act have started

'We are launching consultations on our 800+ Act as the change will serve children. The Law and Justice Government consistently and credibly fulfils its promises. Of course, we want to discuss the whole Act so that the entire legislative path is followed,' Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said.

The programme rules will not change

The 800+ benefit, as before, will be due for each child, regardless of family income. Apart from its amount, nothing will change. Minister of Family and Social Policy Marlena Maląg informed that the regulations that will increase the amount of thee 500+ benefit will be adopted before the autumn parliamentary elections.

Today we start the legislative path. The programme will be adopted by the election period. The principles of the programme will be the same as before. The 800+ programme is primarily intended to show how important the family is. The family should have support from the state, and we are implementing this support all the time and will continue to do so,' Marlena Maląg indicated.

The Family 500+ programme has been in operation since April 2016. Every month, the benefit goes to 7 million children, and a total of PLN 230.6 billion has already been allocated for this purpose.

Wishes on the occasion of Children's Day

Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and Minister of Family and Social Policy Marlena Maląg extended their best wishes to all children on the occasion of their holiday.

'Most of all, I wish all children to have dreams and not be afraid to fulfil them. And to parents, I wish them to help their children make those dreams come true,' Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said.

Minister Marlena Maląg emphasised that children and the family are the determinants of all the Law and Justice Government's actions.

'On 1 June, we celebrate one of the most beautiful holidays – Children's Day. It is with joy on this occasion that I extend my heartfelt wishes to all the youngest children. I wish you to grow up surrounded by the care and love you can only find in a family. Take advantage of the carelessness that has been ascribed to you and enjoy every day,' Marlena Maląg said.
