State Secretary, Stanisław Szwed, met with Qiu Xiaoping, Deputy Minister of Human Resources and Social Security of the PRC.

The meeting of ministers for labour and social policy of the Visegrad Group countries took place in the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy. The host of the meeting was Elżbieta Rafalska, Minister of Family, Labour and Social Policy.

Today, 14 members of the new Codification Commission of Labour Law were appointed. Its purpose is, among others, to produce drafts of codes: individual and collective labour law.

The government proposes that in March 2017, in the framework of indexation, all pensions from the social security system, from the social insurance of farmers, the retirement benefit of the so-called uniformed services, pre-retirement allowances and benefits, be raised by a rate of 100.73 per cent.

Minister Elżbieta Rafalska is the guest of the 26th Economic Forum in Krynica. She took part in the discussion panel: “Pro-family policy – new challenges in the face of demographic slowdown in Europe.”

The Regulation of the Council of Ministers concerning the Codification Commission of Labour Law entered into force on 1 September 2016. The task of the Commission will be to prepare drafts of the Labour Code and the Code of Collective Labour Law.

The inter-ministerial body for development of solutions to improve the situation of people with disabilities and their family members was created. Prime Minister Beata Szydło signed the ordinance on its establishment on August 29 this year.

The amendment to the Labour Code, which enters into force on September 1 this year, assumes the end of the first day employment syndrome. The employer and every employee will be required to have a written contract or written confirmation of its terms – even before admitting the employee to work.

On 12 August, Minister of Family, Labour and Social Policy, Elżbieta Rafalska, accepted the Award of the European Large Family Confederation (ELFAC) on behalf of the Polish Government in recognition of outstanding achievements in pro-family policy, in particular for the implementation of the “Family 500 plus” programme. The award ceremony took place during the 8th European Large Families Conference in Riga.
