Once again, the gardens of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister turned into a huge playground. Ball pool, shaping clay, painting portraits and decorating T-shirts are just some of the highlights that the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy prepared on its stand on Children's Day.

On 1 June, Minister Elżbieta Rafalska met with Paul W. Jones, Ambassador of the USA to Poland. Secretary of State Stanisław Szwed and Undersecretary of State Renata Szczęch also participated in the talks.

The minimum hourly wage over PLN 12 (the amount will be indexed) will apply to people working under specific contracts of mandate and for the provision of services, including self-employed ones, from 1 January 2017. The bill was adopted today by the Council of Ministers. 

Between 23 and 25 May 2016, representatives of the European Commission and the Public Employment Services from the EU/EEA countries made a visit to the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy.

On 19 May, the sixth meeting of the National Development Council was held in the Chancellery of the President under the title: “Social policy after a quarter of a century of changes: solidarity, social investment, shared responsibility.” Minister Elżbieta Rafalska participated in the meeting.

The inaugural meeting of the Senior Policy Council took place on 18 May in the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy. Minister Elżbieta Rafalska presented appointments to members of the Council. Prof. Józefa Hrynkiewicz became the President of the Council. Deputy Minister Elżbieta Bojanowska also took part in the meeting.

On Sunday, 15 May, we will celebrate the next anniversary of the International Day of Families proclaimed by the United Nations. On this occasion, the Minister of Family, Labour and Social Policy, Elżbieta Rafalska, extended her wishes to families.

The draft amendment to Directive 96/71/EC on the posting of workers in the framework of the provision of services proposed by the European Commission met with opposition from national parliaments of 11 countries, including Poland.

On 26 April, Minister Elżbieta Rafalska met with Michel Servoz, Director-General of the European Commission's Directorate-General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion, in the office of the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy. Secretary of State Stanisław Szwed and Undersecretary of State Renata Szczęch also participated in the talks.
