Today, the Council of Ministers adopted a draft amendment to the Act on social insurance and the Labour Code. Thanks to this, the transfer of contributions to the Polish Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) will be simplified.

The pro-family policy implemented by the Government of the Republic of Poland and the Catholic Church was one of the main issues discussed at the meeting of the Joint Committee of Representatives of the Polish Government and the Polish Episcopal Conference. 

The non-governmental organisation “Three Plus” Association of Large Families was selected in the competition of the Ministry of Family as a partner for the operation of the Large Family Card (LFC) programme. 

At the invitation of Foreign Minister of Austria, Sebastian Kurz, Undersecretary of State, Elżbieta Bojanowska, took part in the Vienna Future Talks, which took place on 23 January this year in Vienna.

A review of the ministries is taking place in the Chancellery of the President of the Council of Ministers. It is devoted to a summary of the achievements of the past year, but above all to the plans for 2017.

From the new year, more people will be able to benefit from food assistance under the 2014-2020 Food Assistance Operational Programme. The changes were introduced after consultation with the Programme Implementation Advisory Team.

The Council of Ministers adopted the resolution on the programme of comprehensive family support “For Life,”submitted by the Minister of Family, Labour and Social Policy.

On 19 December 2016, President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda, signed an act lowering the retirement age. As of 1 October 2017, women in the age of 60 and men who reach 65 will be able to retire.
