EC forecasts: low unemployment and GDP growth

14.02.2017

According to a study published by the European Commission, economic growth in Poland is expected to accelerate in 2017 and 2018.

The main driving force is to be private consumption, which increased 3.6 percentage points in 2016. This was due to the increase in wages and employment, and social transfers.

The EC expects further wage increases due to unemployment at a record low. In 2016, it amounted to 6.3 per cent and is expected to continue to decrease until 2018, reaching 4.7 per cent.
