The registered unemployment rate in April 2025 was 5.2%, down 0.1 percentage points from the previous month, according to estimates by the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy. Preliminary data show that unemployment fell in all voivodships, including areas affected by flooding last year.

Preliminary data indicate that in April 2025, compared to March 2025, the unemployment rate fell in all 16 voivodships and in 85% of counties in Poland, including over 88% of counties that were affected by floods last year.
Compared to April 2024, the unemployment rate in April 2025 increased slightly (by 0.1 percentage points).
According to preliminary data, at the end of April 2025, there were 804,500 unemployed persons registered in employment offices. This means that compared to the previous month, the number of unemployed persons decreased by over 25,000, and year-on-year it increased by over 7,000 persons.
Eurostat: Poland ranks second in the EU in terms of unemployment
According to the latest Eurostat data, in March 2025 Poland ranked second among EU countries in terms of unemployment rate (2.7%). This is a slight increase compared to February 2025 (2.6%). The number of unemployed in March this year was 473,000, compared to 469,000 a month earlier. Only the Czech Republic recorded lower unemployment (2.6%).
The differences in unemployment figures between the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy and Eurostat are due to methodological differences.
