PLN 200 million to support social economy entities

17.01.2023

Social economy entities will receive nearly PLN 200 million in total under the “Resilience and development of social economy and social entrepreneurship” programme for the years 2022-2025 announced by the Ministry of Family and Social Policy.

PLN 200 million to support social economy entities

For many years, the Ministry of Family and Social Policy has been focusing on creating conditions supporting the development of the social economy. On 30 October 2023, the Act on social economy, which comprehensively governs this area, entered into force.

The social economy sector allows to unlock and fully use social activity, creativity and grassroots mobilisation for the common good. Social economy entities combine market and non-market forms of action in order to support persons in need, create jobs and provide social services to local homelands – says the Deputy Minister of Family and Social Policy, Government Plenipotentiary for Social Economy Anita Czerwińska.

About the Programme

The Resilience and Development of Social Economy and Social Entrepreneurship Programme for the years 2022-2025 is a new instrument thanks to which the Minister of Family and Social Policy may support the development of this sector. Thanks to the implementation of this project, it will be possible to increase the impact of PES in the field of social and professional reintegration of persons at risk of social exclusion and to support the deinstitutionalisation of social services.

Purpose of support

The Programme will support activities allowing to modernise social economy entities, the with the objective to, inter alia:

  • increase the scale of activity (e.g. to include additional areas and sectors of activity, to increase the territorial range of sale of products and services),
  • change of the sector,
  • increase financial turnover.

The support can be received for projects falling within three areas:

Area 1 - reintegration of persons at risk of social exclusion in social enterprises and social employment entities.

Area 2 - building the potential of social enterprises and social economy entities to provide deinstitutionalised social services.

Area 3 - strengthening resilience and developing social enterprises and social economy entities.

Beneficiaries

As part of the programme, social economy entities will receive the support. Preferential conditions have been foreseen for social enterprises (higher maximum amount of support, additional points). The support under Area 1 will be available to social employment entities and social enterprises.

Financing

The amount of EUR 45 million, i.e. about PLN 200 million, has been planned for the implementation of the programme. Of these funds, PES will receive more than 197 million. The remaining funds will be allocated for implementing the programme.

Social enterprises and social economy entities which will undertake to obtain this status will receive the support in the amount of up to PLN 190 thousand. Other social economy entities can receive the amount of up to PLN 170 thousand.

Call for applications

Under the programme, it is planned to announce several calls for applications. The first of them is scheduled to be conducted and settled in the first quarter of 2023. As part of this call, the Minister of Family and Social Policy will allocate PLN 100 million for supporting PES.

Detailed information about this call and further calls will be available in the Ministry’s Public Information Bulletin and, inter alia, on the websites:
