Lower Number of People on Social Assistance

On January 22nd, Elżbieta Rafalska Minister of Family, Labour and Social Policy took part in the opening ceremony of a new Social Welfare Centre in Szaniec.

According to the latest Central Statistical Office (GUS) data, the number of beneficiaries of environmental social assistance has fallen by 9%.

Minister of Family, Labour and Social Policy stressed that good financial situation on the labour market and Family 500+ programme improves the situation of Polish families. And the result is reduction in the number of people using social assistance.

‘This is an opportunity for social workers to focus on the long-term social work that will help people to deal with difficult life situations on their own’ added Minister Rafalska.
