The holiday of social workers

“Social worker is a profession that requires heart, it is mission and a service,” Prime Minister Beata Szydło said on the Social Worker Day. 21 November is the holiday of all workers of social services, and in particular of social workers. 

Minister Elżbieta Rafalska and Deputy Minister Elżbieta Bojanowska participated in the ceremony organised on this occasion in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister.

 

In total, there are 20,793 social workers in Poland, of which 19,656 are employed in social assistance centres and 1,137 in the district family support centres.

 

On this day, the MFLSP presented prizes and distinctions for outstanding and innovative solutions in the field of social assistance in 2016. This year, 13 cash prizes were awarded, including 8 individual prizes and 5 group prizes, and 10 distinctions in the form of congratulatory letters, including 6 individual congratulatory letters and 4 group letters for outstanding and innovative solutions in the field of social assistance.
