Self-government pro familia 2022. Commune, apply for the competition!

Awarding communes showing particular commitment to activities for families in a local community, as well as promoting good practices – these are the main objectives of the „Self-Government PRO FAMILIA” competition.– I warmly invite all communes for which family is important to participate in this year’s edition of the competition. Applications can be submitted until the end of March – indicates the Minister of Family and Social Policy, Marlena Maląg.

A local large family card, free travels for children, easier access to flats or various types of discounts? There are many activities for families carried out by communes all over Poland.

– Such initiative and similar ones are a great value serving, on the one hand, to improve the situation and quality of life of families in a given region, and on the other hand – it means creating a good climate for families. We appreciate such activities very much, that is why last year we launched the „Self-government pro familia” competition. We want to award communes showing particular commitment to activities for families in a local community, as well as to promote good practices. That is why, we announced another edition of the programme this year – says the Minister of Family and Social Policy, Marlena Maląg.

Who is the competition for?

Applications for the 2022 edition of the „Self-government pro familia” competition will be accepted in 4 categories:

  • Rural commune,
  • Rural-urban commune; urban commune with up to 20 thousand residents,
  • Urban commune with more than 20 thousand to 100 thousand residents,
  • Urban commune with more than 100 thousand residents.

The family-oriented policy pursued by communes should be addressed to all families (among others, regardless of their financial or social status – it should not be identified with social welfare only). It should be aimed at creating appropriate conditions for the functioning of all families and for giving birth to children, as well as for setting up new families. The family-oriented policy is to strengthen the family, as well as to create a positive image of the family.

How to apply for the competition?

The application form – together with a completed questionnaire and a description of a long-term strategy of activities undertaken by the self-government as part of the family-oriented policy – should be sent in electronic form via the CAS system (Central Statistical Application) made available to communal offices.

On 21 January 2021, all communes received, by e-mail, detailed information about access to the Central Statistical Application, through which a completed Application Form for participation in the „Self-government pro familia” competition should be submitted.

Important dates!

Applications can be submitted until 31 March. Applications made after the above-mentioned date will not be considered.

The results of the 2022 edition of the „Self-government pro familia” competition will be announced and the awards and distinctions will be presented in May 2022. The organisers of the competition will notify the awarded and distinguished communes of the exact date of presenting awards and distinctions.

 „Self-government pro familia” 2021

This is the second edition of the competition, organised by the Ministry of Family and Social Policy. 236 communes applied for participation in the first edition held last year. The winners were: Miejsce Piastowe, Pleszew, Boguszów-Gorce, Otwock and Katowice.

In addition, three distinctions were awarded: Sędziszów Małopolski, Grodzisk Mazowiecki and Gdynia. The jury of the competition also awarded Kępice and Nysa.

The partner of the competition is the Orlen Foundation.
