Meeting with the Minister of Human Resources of Hungary

19.05.2017

On 19 May 2017, Zoltán Balog, Minister of Human Resources of Hungary, paid an official visit to Warsaw. During his stay in Poland, Hungarian Minister, together with Deputy Minister of Culture and National Heritage, Piotr Gliński, in the presence of Minister E. Rafalska, opened an exhibition entitled “Hungarian Love” at the National Ethnographic Museum.

This exhibition is presented as part of the ongoing Year of Hungarian Culture in Poland.

After the inauguration of the exhibition, a meeting was held in the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy. During the talks, Minister E. Rafalska was accompanied by Bartosz Marczuk, Undersecretary of State. The interlocutors of the Minister, apart from Minister Z. Balog, included Katalin Novák, Secretary of State for Family, Youth and International Affairs in the Ministry of Human Resources of Hungary.

The subject matter of the meeting were demographic challenges and family policy as a response to them. Hungary, like Poland, has been struggling with low fertility rate for years: in 2015, the TFR in Hungary was 1.44, in Poland 1.31.
