The Council will be an expert and advisory body to the President. It is composed of representatives of the scientific community, as well as activists of social organisations. The Chair of the Council is Prof. Andrzej Waśko, and its members are, inter alia, the Ombudsman for Children Mikołaj Pawlak and MEPs Elżbieta Rafalska and Anna Zalewska.

There will be no efficient, safe and prosperous Polish state without a strong, structurally established and secured Polish family – stressed President Andrzej Duda during the ceremony.

The President pointed out that the “Family 500+” programme had improved the situation of large families and had had a positive impact on the economy, but other ways still should be sought to encourage young people to start families.
