100 years of social policy in Poland

At Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy a conference devoted to Polish social policy was organized as part of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of regaining Poland's independence in 1918.

In the event apart form Minister Elżbieta Rafalska took part: Deputy Prime Minister Beata Szydło and Assistant Director-General of the International Labour Organization Heinz Koller.

The conference was opened by Minister Elżbieta Rafalska, who reminded that the role of social policy is to eliminate social inequalities including profitable, or access to public services.

Deputy Prime Minister Beata Szydło emphasized that we should think about the family and look for solutions that would enable Polish families to grow. I hope that this fashion for family that we started will last said Deputy Prime Minister. These are the most important tasks for us to invest in people and it was the goal of my government, which in 2015 began a very ambitious and bold reform of social policy added Deputy Prime Minister Szydło. Assistant Director-General of the International Labour Organization recalled the history of changes in Polish labor law and support, among others for the unemployed.

The conference was attended by about 150 people - representatives of the government and the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland, parliamentarians and experts. Its main goal, as well as further undertakings planned in 2018 in all voivodeships of our country, is to emphasize the achievements, role and importance of social policy in the history of the Polish state.
