Poland among the countries with the lowest recorded level of unemployment

According to the latest Eurostat data, the unemployment rate in Poland reached in July the level of 3.2%. This means that the unemployment rate in our country is at the same level as in the corresponding period of last year and is still significantly below the EU average.

The latest data from the EU statistical office indicate that in July this year the unemployment rate in the European Union was 7.2%. This is 0.1 percentage point more than in the previous month and 0.5 percentage point more than a year ago.

In July, there were almost 15.18 million people unemployed in the EU, which means exactly 927,000 more than a year ago.

Unemployment rate in Poland

Poland continues to be one of the countries with the lowest recorded level of unemployment. In July, the unemployment rate reached here 3.2 percent and has not changed year on year. In the European Union, better result was recorded only in the Czech Republic, where the unemployment rate reflected 2.7%, but it has increased over the last year by 0.7 percentage points.

According to the Eurostat methodology, there are currently 544,000 unemployed people in Poland.

– Once again, we have confirmed that the anti-crisis shield and our decisive measures to protect jobs have contributed to the fact that we are not recording a significant increase in the unemployment rate. The return to normalcy is still far ahead of us, but today’s data show that the situation of the labour market in Poland is getting stable, says Minister of Family, Labour and Social Policy, Marlena Maląg.

Youth unemployment

Eurostat data shows that indicators for young people in Poland are improving. In July, the unemployment rate among people under 25 years of age in Poland was 9.5%. There were 102,000 unemployed young Poles

A year ago, these indicators were recorded at a higher level. In July 2019, the youth unemployment rate was 10.2%. and there were 129,000 unemployed people.

In the European Union, there are currently 2.9 million unemployed people. The unemployment rate among people under 25 years of age is 17%.
