The 'Working Holiday' Programme – Peru
On 29 September 2020, an agreement on the 'Working Holiday' Programme was signed in Warsaw between the Government of the Republic of Poland and the Government of the Republic of Peru.
Benefits of participating in the Programme
The ‘Working Holiday’ Programme is an initiative aimed at young citizens of Poland and Peru aged 18 to 30, offering a unique opportunity to combine travelling with gaining professional experience. Programme participants can spend up to one year in a partner country, learning about its culture, language and everyday life.
Thanks to the possibility of taking up paid work during their stay, young people can finance their own living expenses, which makes the trip more affordable. The programme also promotes personal and professional development – participants gain international experience, establish intercultural contacts and broaden their horizons.
Although work is complementary in nature, it is a valuable source of new skills and competences, but the main goal of the Programme remains getting to know the host country – its traditions, communities and lifestyle. The ‘Working Holiday’ Programme is therefore an excellent opportunity to combine the pleasure of travelling with personal and professional development.
Conditions of participation
Polish citizens who meet the following conditions may apply to participate in the Programme:
- The main purpose of their stay in the host country is a holiday and cultural trip lasting up to 1 year.
- They are at least 18 years of age, but have not yet reached the age of 31 at the time of applying for a visa.
- They are not travelling with dependants.
- They have a valid passport, issued no earlier than 10 years prior to the application, with at least 2 blank pages, which is valid for at least 3 months after the end of the planned stay (if required by the regulations of the host country).
- They have a return ticket or the means to purchase one.
- They have sufficient financial means to support themselves during their stay.
- They meet the health requirements of the host country and have health insurance covering hospital care, as required by applicable regulations.
- They have not previously participated in the Programme organised by the host Party.
Under the Agreement, the annual limit for visas under the Peru Working Holiday Programme is 100 (one hundred) visas.
