Working Holiday Agreements

  • On 9 May 2008, the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Poland and the Government of New Zealand on the 'Working Holiday' Programme entered into force. It was the first agreement of this type concluded by the Republic of Poland, creating opportunities for young people to learn about the culture and way of life in Poland and New Zealand, combined with the possibility of legally taking up gainful employment.
  • On 7 October 2014, an agreement on the Working Holiday Programme was signed in Warsaw between the Government of the Republic of Poland and the Government of Australia.
  • The agreement between the Warsaw Trade Office in Taipei (presently Polish Office in Taipei) and the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Warsaw (presently Taipei Representative Office in Poland) on a cultural and educational exchange programme for young people came into force on 1 December 2014. The duration of the stay is 12 months, and the period devoted to study may not exceed 6 months, as may the period of employment. Programme participants will be exempt from the obligation to obtain a work permit (it may only be temporary). In subsequent years, new editions of the programme will start on 1 January each year.
  • On 11 July 2015, the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Poland and the Government of Japan on the 'Working Holiday' Programme, signed in Tokyo on 27 February 2015, entered into force. Visa applications can be submitted to the Embassy of Japan in Warsaw.
  • On 27 July 2017, the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Poland and the Government of the Republic of Chile on the 'Working Holiday' Programme, signed in Warsaw on 28 April 2017, entered into force.
  • On 1 June 2018, the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Poland and the Government of the Republic of Korea on the 'Working Holiday' Programme, signed in Warsaw on 24 January 2018, entered into force.
  • The agreement between the Government of the Republic of Poland and the Government of the Argentine Republic on the 'Working Holiday' Programme was signed on 28 November 2018 and entered into force on 1 May 2019.
  • On 29 September 2020, an agreement on the 'Working Holiday' Programme was signed in Warsaw between the Government of the Republic of Poland and the Government of the Republic of Peru.
