Access to the basic payment account
Payment service providers are obliged to provide basic payment accounts for domestic transactions free of charge for consumers who do not have any other payment account.
As part of a basic payment account, consumers can use basic, most popular services such as:
- receiving salary or benefits,
- paying bills or taxes,
- purchasing goods and services, via direct debit, credit transfer and payment cards, with the exception of credit products.
Currently, there is a monthly limit on free transactions. The provider may only charge fees after 5 such transactions ordered by the consumer have been executed.
