Bilateral and multilateral cooperation

The Ministry of Finance actively participates in implementation of foreign policy of the Government of the Republic of Poland by fulfilling tasks related to the bilateral economic and financial cooperation within the Minister of Finance competence with the European Union Member States, candidates to the EU and with third countries.

The Minister of Finance holds regular meetings with his counterparts, including in the formats of the Visegrad Group, the Weimar Triangle, and also participates in bilateral intergovernmental consultations.

As part of the multilateral cooperation, the Ministry of Finance participates in the works of many international organizations and initiatives, both as the leading and cooperating institution.

The most important of such organizations and initiatives include: the World Customs Organization (WCO), the Intra-European Organization of Tax Administrations (IOTA), the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) or Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM). Moreover, the Ministry of Finance is responsible for the matters related to the membership and cooperation with international financial institutions.
