The Department is responsible for making the policy in the field of the general anti-avoidance rule (GAAR), the implementation of the transfer pricing policy (competent authority in MAP, APA, ICAP and ETACA cases), application of the general anti-avoidance rule and the measures to limit DTA benefits in individual cases, policy- making and implementation of the cooperation compliance program. It is also responsible for the relationship management with National Revenue Administration (NRA) key entities (large businesses), including the development and the implementation of new forms of cooperation, designing, modeling and the implementation of new services provided to NRA’s key entities. The Department is responsible for cooperation with investors on the tax basis and with national institutions in this area. It is also responsible for investment agreement proceedings. 
It carries out tasks in the field of the assignment  of tax scheme numbers (NSP) and cross-border tax scheme  notification numbers (NZSPT) and analyzes information on tax schemes.
The Department supervises and coordinates work in the field of key entities compliance risk management.
