Tasks

The Legal Department is responsible for:

1. providing legal services for the Minister, including handling of legislative proceedings,
2. representation in proceedings before administrative and common courts as well as tribunals and other adjudicating bodies,
3. cooperation with the General Prosecutor`s Office of the Republic of Poland,
4. taking actions in the field of civil enforcement proceedings, including vindication of civil law claims after the liquidated Ministry of the Treasury,
5. implementation of corporate governance over companies with State Treasury shareholding,
6. the examination of application for relief in the repayment of cash receivables pursuant to the provisions of the Act of 27 August 2009 on public finance,
7. handling of matters related to financing of political parties and elections committees from state budget,
8. conducting cases related to the regulation of property matters connected with the international compensation agreements (the so-called indemnity agreements) and to unclaimed assets deposited in Swiss bank accounts (the so-called dormant Swiss accounts).
9. performing the tasks of the Minister and exercising the powers vested in the State Treasury, delegated to the Minister - specified in art. 6 sec. 1 and art. 8 sec. 1 points 1 and 2 of the Act of December 16, 2016 on the principles of state property management (Dz.U. z 2021 r. poz. 1933),
10. conducting proceedings under the provisions on legalisation fees and penalties provided for in the Act of 7 July 1994 - Construction Law (Dz. U. z 2021 r. poz. 2351, z późn. zm.) .
