The long-awaited tunnel under the Świna River, which will connect the islands of Wolin and Usedom, is now open. The opening ceremony of the tunnel, the construction of which was supported by the Polish portion of EU funds in the amount of almost PLN 776 million, was attended by government representatives, including the Deputy Prime Minister, Jarosław Kaczyński, the Minister of Development Funds and Regional Policy, Grzegorz Puda, the Governor of the Zachodniopomorskie Voivodeship, Zbigniew Bogucki, as well as Mayor of Świnoujście, Janusz Żmurkiewicz and the authorities of the Świnoujście City Municipality.

Białystok was the last city we visited as part of a workshop on possibilities of applying for funding from the European Funds for Eastern Poland (EFEP) programme for 2021-2027. More EU funds will flow to Poland. Our country will receive over PLN 4 billion for investment under the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF). The CEF Transport Coordinating Committee approved the European Commission's recommendation to award the subsidy.

The Council of Ministers adopted a draft Act amending the Act on export insurance guaranteed by the State Treasury and certain other acts and repealing the Act on interest subsidies for export credits with fixed interest rates, submitted by the Minister of Development and Technology.

The Minister of Development Funds and Regional Policy, Grzegorz Puda, received the special award of Patron of Investment and Development of the Polish Economy during the Gala of 200 largest companies of the “Wprost” weekly which took place on Tuesday in Warsaw. The Council of Ministers has adopted a resolution on amendment to the European Funds for Digital Development 2021-2027 (EFDD) programme, submitted by the Minister of Development Funds and Regional Policy. The amendment to the Programme relates to the simplification of accounting for expenditure in projects related to increasing access to ultra high-speed internet.

We are launching competitions for telecom operators for the largest ever funding for the construction of broadband internet, Grzegorz Puda, the Minister of Development Funds and Regional Policy announced on Friday. We will allocate over PLN 7 billion for this purpose from the 2021-2027 European Funds for Digital Development (EFDD) Programme and the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRP).

The European Funds for Eastern Poland (EFEP ) are now available and the implementation of the programme is gaining momentum. To meet the needs of beneficiaries, the Ministry of Development Funds and Regional Policy has launched a series of workshops on how to obtain support from the programme. Today we met in Kielce. The workshop was opened by Deputy Minister Małgorzata Jarosińska-Jedynak and Marshal of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, Andrzej Bętkowski.
