Almost 29 million YouTube users, more than 11 million on Instagram and TikTok, and more than 800,000 creators active in Poland - this is what today's market looks like, one that genuinely shapes the opinions, trends and purchasing decisions of millions of audiences. Responsibility, regulation and the future of the industry were discussed at the conference 'Influencers 2026 - Responsibility in the Spotlight of Reach', held at KRRiT's headquarters.

Around 800,000 influencers and digital creators are active in Poland today, along with hundreds of companies and organisations that work with them. With this industry in mind, the National Broadcasting Council has prepared a comprehensive guide that sets out, in accessible terms, the rules and obligations for VOD providers. The material describes, among other things, obligations relating to registration on the KRRiT list and reporting requirements, as well as standards for protecting minors and the rules for labelling adverts by influencers.

The KRRiT Chair ,Dr Agnieszka Glapiak, has submitted comments to the Ministry of Digital Affairs on two draft laws implementing the Digital Services Act (DSA). The Council pointed out that effectively introducing the EU regulations requires the creation of a coherent system for overseeing online content, a clear division of responsibilities between state bodies, and ensuring the regulator has adequate tools and resources. It is essential that the proposed legislation does not amount to a form of censorship or become a tool for restricting public debate.

Dr Agnieszka Glapiak, Chair of the National Broadcasting Council, stressed that the changes arising from the so-called Media Law lower the KRRiT's standing. On 22 January 2026, the KRRiT Chair took part - by remote connection - in a meeting of the Working Group on the European Media Freedom Act (EMFA) at the European Parliament. The meeting was devoted to the implementation of the EMFA in EU member states.

The National Broadcasting Council, as the institution safeguarding freedom of speech, the right to information and the public interest in radio and television, takes a critical view of the provisions of the draft 'Media Law' presented in December 2025 by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. The KRRiT supports the implementation of the European Media Freedom Act (EMFA), but does not agree to solutions that, under the pretext of adapting to alleged EU requirements, would introduce controversial and unnecessary changes that would, in practice, destabilise the media system in Poland. Below we set out the KRRiT's main objections to the provisions under consultation.

The National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) presents its findings from monitoring current-affairs programmes broadcast on TVP S.A. (in liquidation). The analysis found breaches of standards of impartiality, balance and diversity of opinion. Presenters were found to select guests and experts selectively, favour one side of the debate, and marginalise and disparage the opposition. Nor did they act as discussion moderators, instead openly presenting their own private views - which is unacceptable. This one-sided coverage was revealed by monitoring of six current-affairs programmes broadcast on TVP S.A. (in liquidation). Two years after the ruling coalition's forcible takeover, public media are failing to fulfil their duty to maintain pluralism, impartiality, balance and independence.

In 2025, the National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) received a total of 18,088 complaints concerning content broadcast on radio and television, as well as on video-on-demand audiovisual services and video-sharing platforms. On this basis, KRRiT launched 381 investigative proceedings, covering both public and commercial broadcasters as well as online content providers. As a result of these proceedings, 7 decisions imposing financial penalties totalling PLN 325,000 were issued, and 9 further proceedings are ongoing.

The Regional Court in Warsaw has upheld the decision of the Chair of the National Broadcasting Council to impose a financial penalty of PLN 70,000 on TVN S.A. for breaching product-placement rules. The case concerned the programme 'Dzień dobry wakacje' ('Good Morning Holidays'), broadcast on TVN.

Two years have passed since the unprecedented takeover of public media in Poland, which was based on a resolution rather than a law passed by the Sejm. The ruling party's decision to begin liquidating public media has resulted in irreparable financial, organisational, and reputational losses. The National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) outlines the sequence of events and actions taken against Telewizja Polska, Polskie Radio and the Polish Press Agency at that time.

Only journalistic integrity and responsibility can effectively protect against the threats posed by artificial intelligence. This was one of the conclusions of the National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) conference entitled, 'AI - Media in the Age of Algorithms'. During the event, Dr Agnieszka Glapiak, Chairwoman of the National Broadcasting Council, presented the results of the study 'Artificial Intelligence in the Media', which formed the basis for discussions on responsibility, ethics, and the automation of media communication.
