Approval of Hydrogeological Documentation

The process

Hydrogeological documentation must be submitted to the competent geological administration authority in two paper copies and four electronic copies on digital data carriers.

The competent geological administration authority, along with the decision approving the hydrogeological documentation, provides the entity for which the documentation was approved with one paper copy and one electronic copy on digital data carriers.

Duration of the process

The decision is issued without undue delay, but no later than within one month from the date of application submission. In particularly complex cases, the deadline is two months from the date of submission.

Authority competent for the decision

Hydrogeological documentation is approved by way of an decision issued by the competent geological administration authority — specifically, the marshal of the voivodeship who approved the geological works project.

What is the fee for the decision?

The stamp duty for issuing an administrative ruling approving hydrogeological documentation is PLN 10.

The stamp duty for a power of attorney is PLN 17.

How to appeal?

An appeal is submitted to the minister responsible for environmental matters in the case of a ruling issued by the voivodeship marshal.
For rulings issued by a mayor or district governor (starosta), the appeal is submitted to the Local Government Appeals Board (Samorządowe Kolegium Odwoławcze) within 14 days from the date of delivery of the ruling, via the authority that issued it.

Can the hydrogeological documentation be submitted online?

The regulations do not provide for the possibility of submitting hydrogeological documentation for approval electronically.
