During the traditional holiday gathering at the National Institute of Telecommunications, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Affairs, Krzysztof Gawkowski, was presented with a prototype of the IDSoC microprocessor, developed by a consortium of the National Institute of Telecommunications and the Warsaw University of Technology, designed to verify identity authenticity.

During the Easter meeting of the National Institute of Telecommunications team, attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Affairs Krzysztof Gawkowski, Dr. Eng. Elżbieta Andrukiewicz received the EUCC certificate for the Institute's IT Security Evaluation Facility (LOB/ITSEF).

At the Gdańsk branch of the National Institute of Telecommunications (NIT), a device has just arrived that makes it possible to... create a storm in the airwaves. And all without leaving the laboratory. NIT in Gdańsk can stir up a storm in the ether!

Colloquially, "GPS” is used when we talk about satellite navigation, while GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) is the general term for all satellite navigation systems, including the American GPS, European Galileo, Russian GLONASS, and Chinese BeiDou. In short: GPS is one system, while GNSS is a family of systems. However, disruptions typically affect all satellite navigation systems simultaneously. Initially, the problem mainly concerned aviation and maritime navigation. Over time, however, the interference began to "descend lower” - covering maritime, land, and urban areas. Today, it is felt not only at several thousand meters above ground but also at street level, in parking lots, or even on school playgrounds.

By decision of the Minister of Digital Affairs, Krzysztof Gawkowski, Wiesław Łodzikowski has been appointed Deputy Director of the National Institute of Telecommunications (NIT). His appointment represents a significant strengthening of the Institute's competences in the areas of market cooperation and the commercial utilisation of the research and implementation potential of NIT.

On 20 January 2026, a scientific seminar devoted to new directions in the development of multicriteria decision support was held at the National Institute of Telecommunications (NIT).

IT Security Evaluation Facility (ITSEF) at the National Institute of Telecommunications has successfully passed a certification audit and has obtained a certificate of compliance for its information security management system with the requirements of PN-EN ISO/IEC 27001:2023-08 standard in the next certification cycle.

Issue 4/2025 of the Journal of Telecommunications and Information Technology (JTIT), published by the National Institute of Telecommunications, presents current research directions in the field of modern telecommunication systems, with a particular focus on artificial intelligence algorithms, wireless system optimization, and network security.

A new publication entitled "Communication Technologies for Intelligent Transportation Systems: From Railways to UAVs and Beyond” has just been released on the website of the quarterly journal Journal of Telecommunications and Information Technology, published by the National Institute of Telecommunications.
