Scope and purpose of project activities
The National Revenue Administration (KAS), in cooperation with the Centre for EU Transport Projects as the Coordinator, the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA), the Lublin Border Crossings Management Board and a partner from Ukraine (State Agency for Restructuring and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine) is implementing the project entitled "Solidarity Lanes EU - Ukraine - optimisation and modernisation of transport of transport flows in terms of infrastructure capacity, interoperability and efficiency of services at major PL/UA border crossings”.
As part of this project, KAS is responsible for the implementation of one activity, which consists of designing and development of mobile application for truck drivers, used to book border check dates for export traffic, along with the necessary adaptation and integration with border systems, including the DIGITAL BORDER system. The project involves the development of software and purchase of the equipment for testing and implementing the electronic service for booking check-in date of border clearance at the border crossing points (Dorohusk, Hrebenne and Korczowa) as well as training.
The aim of the action is to implement the electronic service for booking check-in date of border clearance at the Polish-Ukrainian border crossing points: Dorohusk Customs Branch, Hrebenne Customs Branch and Korczowa Customs Branch.
The implementation of mandatory electronic service for booking check-in date of border clearance at the border crossing points is aimed at:
- shortening the waiting time of drivers for border check,
- eliminating long queues of trucks at border crossings,
- improving safety on access roads to border crossings,
- improving the capacity of border crossings and balancing their load.
Who carries out the project activities
Project activities involving the implementation of mandatory booking check-in date of border clearance at the border crossing points (Dorohusk, Hrebenne and Korczowa) are carried out by the Revenue Administration Office in Rzeszów and the Customs Department at the Ministry of Finance.
Project effects
For truck drivers - a mobile, friendly application used to book check-in date of border clearance at the border crossing points in the export direction at Dorohusk Customs Branch, Hrebenne, Customs Branch and Korczowa Customs Branch.
For the National Revenue Administration - a tool for managing and planning the border border clearance process, which will increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the implementation of the tasks assigned to the National Revenue Administration, ensuring the ability to properly and effectively handle Poland's foreign trade in goods.
The implementation of the project will improve the flow of transport, especially freight, and increase the capacity of border crossings between the European Union and Ukraine.
