12.03.2024Meeting of the President of the National Atomic Energy Agency with representatives of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the American operator Southern Nuclear at the Alvin W. Vogtle Nuclear Power Plant.Representatives of the National Atomic Energy Agency (PAA), headed by the President of the PAA, Andrzej Głowacki, had the opportunity to visit the newest American nuclear power plant using the AP1000 reactor. Two of the four units in the power plant are based on the same technology that is to be used in the first nuclear power plant in Poland.

06.03.2024The National Atomic Energy Agency begins its chairmanship of the ENSREG Working Group on Nuclear Safety and International CooperationOn March, 5, 2024, the 40th meeting of the Working Group on Nuclear Safety and International Cooperation (WG1), bringing together representatives of national nuclear regulators of the European Union Member States, was held. It was the first meeting that was chaired by the representative of the PAA, director of the Policy and International Cooperation Bureau, Iga Pocztarek-Tofil.

06.02.2024Strengthening of technical and expert support - the PAA President handed over authorisationThe President of the National Atomic Energy Agency (PAA), Andrzej Głowacki, handed over the authorisation decision to the President of the Polish branch of IDOM, Marcin Ward. The handing over of the decision took place on 2 February at the PAA headquarters.

07.12.2023Training of the PAA’s employees in detection of radioactive materialsOn Monday, employees of the National Atomic Energy Agency began a training on the use of the RSI (Radiation Solutions Inc.) system used to detect radioactive materials. The state-of-the-art RSX-1 detectors that are included in this system will become part of the PAA’s equipment.

06.12.2023An American company authorized by the President of the PAAToday the president of NUMARK Associates, Incorporated has received the decision on granting authorization from the head of the National Atomic Energy Agency. The authorization paves the way to apply for the role of a technical support organization for the PAA in the process of licensing and supervision of the construction of nuclear power plants.

14.11.2023From observer status to full membership – Poland in WENRAMembers of the Western European Association of Nuclear Regulators (WENRA) have endorsed Poland's application to join the Association. Until now, our country has had an observer status. Poland's application for full membership was approved by all the countries making up the Association at the WENRA plenary meeting, which is being held in Paris on November 13-15th.
