A delegation of the National Atomic Energy Agency (PAA) met with representatives of the Swiss nuclear regulatory authority (ENSI).

In the latest issue of the bulletin, we present current research and challenges in the area of safe use of nuclear energy. The articles cover such topics as modelling the a boiling water reactor fuel burnup, backup generators in nuclear power plants, as well as the analysis of emergency planning zones in the context of the decarbonization of heating networks. In addition, the results of radiological monitoring of the soil in the proximity of the National Radioactive Waste Repository in Różan were presented.

A delegation of the National Atomic Energy Agency met with representatives of the Swedish nuclear regulatory authority (SSM) in Stockholm.

During the Third Congress of Nuclear Energy, Vice President of the PAA ,Paweł Pytlarczyk, emphasized that nuclear regulatory authority - the National Atomic Energy Agency - plays a key role in the development of nuclear energy in Poland. He pointed to the tasks of the PAA as an independent regulatory body, operating on the basis of national regulations and international requirements and standards.

The pilot school for the regulation of small modular reactors (SMRs) has ended. For two weeks, dozens of representatives of nuclear regulators from all over the world analyzed issues related to the safety of small modular reactor technology in Warsaw. Specialists from regulatory services in various fields shared their knowledge and experience in the field of safety of new nuclear technologies.

The Henryk Niewodniczański Institute of Nuclear Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences celebrated its 70th anniversary. The celebrations were also attended by the President of the National Atomic Energy Agency, Andrzej Głowacki

A pilot school for regulating small modular reactors (SMRs) has begun in Warsaw. The National Atomic Energy Agency is hosting the event, which is organized by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

The Łukasiewicz Research Network - Institute of Ceramics and Building Materials in Krakow is another institution that has received the authorization of the President of the National Atomic Energy Agency needed to prepare expert opinions necessary in the process of issuing a license for the construction of a nuclear power plant. It is an authorization in the field of strength of building materials used in this type of facilities.

Exchange of information, effective cooperation to ensure efficient and effective control and oversight of nuclear facilities - these are the main assumptions of the agreement, which assumes the cooperation of eight national institutions authorized to carry out various types of inspections of nuclear facilities. The agreement was signed at the headquarters of the National Atomic Energy Agency.
