The Department of Foreign Affairs carries out tasks in the field of:

1. ensuring the correct (in terms of organisation and content) course of visits and meetings abroad, as well as telephone conversations of the Prime Minister, the Head of the Chancellery, the service of the Deputy Prime Minister, performing on behalf of the Prime Minister the tasks and competences within the scope entrusted to him (by the Prime Minister);
2. provide the Prime Minister and the Head of the Chancellery with up-to-date information on international affairs;
3. ensuring the correct and timely preparation of international correspondence between the Prime Minister and the Head of the Chancellery;
4. resulting from the Prime Minister's supervision of:

   a) Marek Karp Centre for Eastern Studies,

   b) Zygmunt Wojciechowski Institute for Western Studies,

   c) Wacław Felczak Institute for Polish-Hungarian Cooperation,

   d) Institute of Central Europe.
