Marcin Kulasek (born April 4, 1976) is a graduate of the Faculty of Food Science at the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, where he also earned a PhD in agricultural sciences specializing in food technology and nutrition. He completed postgraduate studies in EU fund management at the same university, as well as postgraduate studies in security and crisis management at the Military Studies program at the Maritime Academy in Gdynia.
For many years, Marcin Kulasek has combined scientific activity with work for public administration and local governments. He has held positions such as assistant to the Voivode of Warmia and Mazury and worked at the Agency for Restructuring and Modernization of Agriculture.
In 2014, he was elected as a councilor to the Warmia-Mazury Voivodeship Assembly. Since 2016, he has served as the General Secretary of what is now the New Left party, previously known as the Democratic Left Alliance (SLD).
In the 2019 parliamentary elections, he was elected as a Member of the Polish Parliament (Sejm).
During the 9th term of the Sejm, he served on the Education, Science, and Youth Committee, chaired the Standing Subcommittee on Science and Higher Education, and was a member of the Agriculture and Rural Development Committee. He also served as Vice-Chair of the National Defense Committee, participated in the subcommittee responsible for drafting the Homeland Defense Act, and worked on the modernization of the armed forces.
In the parliamentary elections held on October 15, 2023, he was re-elected as a Member of Parliament.
On December 18, 2023, he was appointed Secretary of State at the Ministry of State Assets.
