Doctor, local government official and politician. Member of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland in the 8th, 9th and 10th terms. Since 2015, President of the Polish People's Party (PSL).

Born in 1981 in Kraków. A graduate of the King Jan III Sobieski Secondary School No. 2 and the Faculty of Medicine of the Jagiellonian University Medical College. Doctor of medical sciences (PhD). He has worked at the Department of Internal Diseases and Rural Health of the Jagiellonian University Medical College. In 2010, he obtained his doctoral degree in medical sciences. He conducted scientific research, among others, at the Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, USA.

From 2010 to 2011, he served as a councillor of the City of Kraków, participating in the work of the Committee on Family and Social Policy, the Committee on Health and Prevention, and the Committee on Property and Entrepreneurship.

He has been associated with the Polish People’s Party since 2000 and was one of the co-founders of the Young People’s Forum. From 2008 to 2012, he served as Secretary of the Supreme Executive Committee of the Polish People’s Party.

In November 2011, he became the PSL candidate for the position of Minister of Labour and Social Policy in the second coalition government of Prime Minister Donald Tusk. On 18 November 2011, he was sworn in as Minister of Labour and Social Policy. On 1 December 2012, he became Vice-President of the Polish People’s Party.

On 22 September 2014, he was reappointed Minister of Labour and Social Policy in the government of Prime Minister Ewa Kopacz.

On 7 November 2015, the Supreme Council of the Polish People’s Party elected him President of the Polish People’s Party. He also became Chairman of the PSL Parliamentary Club. He was re-elected President of the Party by the Congresses held on 19 November 2016 and 4 December 2021.

From 2015 to 2023, he served as Chairman of the PSL Parliamentary Club. Since 2016, he has been a member of the National Security Council.

From 2012 to 2021, he chaired the Main Council of the National Association of People’s Sports Teams.

He is the grandson of Władysław, a soldier of the 13th Vilnius Uhlans Regiment and the Peasant Battalions, and the son of Andrzej Kosiniak-Kamysz, Minister of Health in the government of Tadeusz Mazowiecki. He is married to Paulina; they have two daughters and a son.

On 12 December 2023, he was elected by the Sejm of the Republic of Poland, and on 13 December appointed by the President of the Republic of Poland, as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence.
